Yoga teaching in Norwegian.
“Yoga is like music: the rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind, and the harmony of the soul create the symphony of life.”
B.K.S. Iyengar
Light on Life
Lucy comes from England and moved to Norway in 2012. She has been practicing yoga since 1998 and became an internationally certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher in 2016.
Lucy has a deep interest in yoga philosophy and has also written two books - the first, "Yoga and Self-Enquiry" , won two awards.
Her recently published book "Meditation for the Modern Yogi" focuses on the practical application of yoga philosophy in the practice of meditation.
Lucy is also very grateful to senior yoga teachers from whom she has learned much, including Brigitta Tummon and Dean & Rebecca Lerner.
The yoga system known as Iyengar Yoga was created and developed over 75 years ago by Yogacharya B.K.S. Iyengar.
Iyengar devoted his life to the development of his approach to yoga, based on the traditional eight steps of yoga taught over 2,500 years ago by Patanjali.
Iyengar believed that yoga is more than just a physical discipline - it is also an art, a science and a philosophy, which he developed with this in mind.
Iyengar Yoga is available for all ages and all body types. It is known for its focus on precision and timing. Regular practice of Iyengar Yoga integrates body, mind and emotions.
A worldwide, standardized system of instruction sets Iyengar Yoga apart from other methods.
Certified Iyengar Yoga Teachers (CIYTs) undergo rigorous training and evaluation to earn their certification. Only CIYTs are allowed to describe their teaching method as Iyengar Yoga. CIYTs are trained to provide clear demonstrations of each position.
Through skillful instruction and practice, students learn to penetrate beyond the physical body to the inner kosas (layers) of mind, energy and spirit, achieving vitality, clarity and calm.Iyengar Yoga is a powerful and sophisticated discipline that can be practiced at any stage of life. The benefits are far-reaching and will help the practitioner in all aspects of daily life.
